Short Bio
Dr. Eileen Dittmar is faculty chair, an academic leadership position, at Capella University where she leads a 65-member online faculty team, collaborates with course development, coordinates University collaboration initiatives to improve the online learner experience, and occasionally teaches online bachelor of business and IT introductory courses.
Eileen is an e-Learning expert, administrator, instructor, trainer and consultant in curriculum, emerging technologies, who provides consultation and training for teachers, universities, state agencies, and school districts. She earned a PhD in Education from Capella University specializing in Instructional Design for Online Learning. Eileen received Capella’s Distinguished Faculty award and is listed twice in Who’s Who of American Teachers.
Eileen has a Masters and Bachelors in Business Education from Western Michigan University. Her Bachelor minors are Accounting and General Business. In 1994 Eileen received Honorary Doctorate from National Association of Investors Clubs for her contributions to investment education in Michigan. She is a Certified Internet Webmaster Associate and a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor certified.
Studying methodology in teamwork, quality learning, human relations, learning styles, including Dale Carnegie®, Eileen has developed integrated teaching activities and shares ideas as a national presenter.
Awards
In 2005, Eileen received the Capella University Distinguished Faculty award for her contributions to Capella’s online learners and faculty. Eileen is among Who’s Who of American teachers 1998 and 2005 editions. In 2002, Eileen received the Michigan Business Education Association’s Recognition Award recognizing her contributions to teaching business education. Further, she received Honorary Doctorate in Investments from National Association of Investment Clubs, Woman of Achievement from Business and Professional Women Club and Leadership Award from Kent County Chamber of Commerce.

Faculty Chair January 2005 to present; Capella University, School of Undergraduate Studies, Minneapolis, Minnesota Academic Leadership. Manage a 65-member online faculty team; serve as subject matter expert and online learning specialist for bachelor degree new learners, collaborate with course development team to implement course improvements; coordinate University-wide collaboration to improve the new online learner experience; occasionally teach online courses in BS Information Technology and BS Business.

Initiated and implemented student organization where students achieved state and national recognition for their business and technology skills.
